River's Fortune

Once, the world danced at your fingertips.

Once, you sang songs that made the stars turn, and conjured beauty and plenty with a thought.

Once, you made crucibles of your spirit and iron of your sweat, and with them forged a world of your own making.

Now, the only world you build is of their design. You summon the storm and the lightning, and they make you pay to keep the lights on. You grow cities from seeds, and they charge you rent to live in them. You compel the crops to grow, and they demand gratitude for the scraps they let you put on your table. 

They have taken your power from you. They have tried to make you forget it was ever yours at all.

River’s Fortune is a role playing game about fantastical scoundrels and thieves performing heists and doing jobs along the Kadras River, a vast channel home to trade, magic, intrigue, and more. 

Utilizing a orignial card based resolution system, with the mission structure of Forged in the Dark games (Blades in the Dark, Scum and Villainy, etc), players in River's Fortune will embark on daring heists and other criminal enterprises to carve out a life for themselves along the Kadras River.

Players will play cards cleverly, use every advantage and ability they can muster, and otherwise bend Fortune in their favor. But be careful of what happens when your luck runs out.

-6 different fantastical playbooks with unique skillsets

-A rich prewritten world, complete with organizations and factions

Each playbook utilizes fantastical abilities and expert training to complete their jobs. Playbooks include:

-The Voice-Touched: a planner who sees the future and bends it to their will.

-The Proxim: A master of manipulation and intrigue, who knows how to get others to do what they want.

-The Dancer: An athletic performer with the power to transform themselves and the world.

-The Hellbinder: A technical genius who calls on devices and mechanical demons to do their bidding. 

 -The Ruin Augur: A powerful psychic with the ability to summon ghosts and draw on the power of history.

-The Labyrinth Crawler: An expert at traversing obstacles quickly and quietly using The Labyrinth, a dimension just outside our own.
